Question 1

Who can attend DevFest Mumbai?

Accepted Answer

Anyone who writes code, reviews code, or pretends they aren't just generating everything with Claude Code Antigravity. If you have a ticket and a basic understanding of personal space, you're welcome.

Question 2

How does registration work?

Accepted Answer

You apply. We run a script. It picks names completely at random. No, sliding into our DMs won't help. No, being a 'Top Voice' on LinkedIn doesn't boost your odds. We don't care how early you applied or who you know. It's entirely random, which is the only fair way to deal with this many of you.

Question 3

Can tickets be transferred?

Accepted Answer

No. Security will actually check your ID at the door. If your face doesn't match the name on the ticket, you don't get in. It's a tech conference, not a local train pass.

Question 4

When will I know if I got selected?

Accepted Answer

Check your inbox. If it's empty, you didn't get in. Please don't email us asking for 'just one exception.' We won't reply.

Question 5

My girlfriend / boyfriend / dog / cat / friend has a ticket, can I accompany them?

Accepted Answer

We're thrilled you have people in your life, but the registration volunteer doesn't care. One valid ticket equals one human. If they don't have a ticket, they can wait outside. The Ballard Pier has great views, and they'll survive without you for a few hours.

Question 6

What's the food situation?

Accepted Answer

We have food. We also have a queue. Your ability to calmly navigate one determines your access to the other.

Question 7

What will I actually see at DevFest?

Accepted Answer

Talks, workshops, activities, games, sideshows, people aggressively networking, and developers staring blankly at architecture slides. It's a good time.

Question 8

Can I survive DevFest Mumbai without losing my mind?

Accepted Answer

Probably. Just pace yourself. Sensory overload and a sudden realization that you need to keep up with the latest tech trends are included with admission.

Question 9

What if I have zero idea what's happening?

Accepted Answer

That is 80% of the audience. Just nod thoughtfully when someone mentions Gemini and you'll blend right in.

Question 10

Will there be Jain food?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We're not looking to start a riot over onions. Find the designated counter and eat in peace.

Question 11

I'm being roasted / recorded - help!

Accepted Answer

Cameras are everywhere for our recap videos (and our own amusement). As for the roasting - it's all in good fun. If someone actually crosses a line, we take it seriously - find a volunteer and we'll throw the offender out.

Question 12

Is there a dress code?

Accepted Answer

Please just wear clothes. The standard uniform of a faded startup t-shirt from 2022 is perfectly acceptable.

Question 13

Will there be charging points everywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. Charge your laptop before you leave your house. We are running an event, not a Starbucks.

Question 14

Can I pitch my startup to the speakers?

Accepted Answer

You can try, but they're not obliged to show interest. Read the room.

Question 15

I didn't get a ticket. Can I just show up and see what happens?

Accepted Answer

You can definitely show up and see what happens - you'll see our security guards asking you to leave. Save yourself the cab fare.
